The Test
That Talks Back

PROVE it! turns any test into a purposeful strategy model, holds students accountable to show thinking during online testing, and provides real data that explains why questions get missed, not just which ones.

becomes a thinking model.

PROVE it!™ turns any test into an adjustable format that asks students to show their thinking during the pre-reading, reading, and question-answering steps. Toggle between Reading and Revising & Editing below, or turn individual PROVE steps on and off, to see how the tool flexes for your classroom.

Active steps
Toggle any letter off to see how the tool flexes — teachers control this per test.
Try all three teacher modes. Look for the Coach / Assist / Independent toggle in the top right of the tool. Coach gives full prompts and nudges. Assist gives lighter prompts. Independent runs the strategy with no scaffolding. Teachers choose the right mode for the right student.
P R O V E

Five letters.
One way of thinking.

The same five-step strategy across every question. The steps shift slightly depending on whether students are reading a passage or revising and editing one. Pick a mode, then click a letter to see what it does.

Read the question first.
Preview

Before students touch the passage, they read the question and highlight the key words. Then they build a PAT list — short for “Pay Attention To” — that tells them exactly what to look for while reading. No more reading a passage for the wrong reasons.

Three steps.
Test to data,
in one flow.

Upload your test. Students complete it inside the PROVE tool. You get the kind of data that actually tells you what to do next.

PROVE is more about teaching kids to THINK. It built confidence in my students — I had several come to me and say they felt more prepared for this test than they’d ever been before.
